A little different!
A retreat from the pace of city life, nestled in the hills above Palmerston North with views across the Manawatu and onwards to Mt Ruapehu, this house is a nod to the alpine huts but with all the conveniences of a modern house. Internally the layout is organised around the main living space, with the bedrooms wrapping around 2 sides. Entering from the ‘back’ of the house between the bedrooms and the garage, the view isn’t immediately evident until arrival into the living space where large expanses of glass frame the vista. Plywood continues throughout the internal spaces on walls and ceilings bringing some warmth in contrast to the exposed concrete floors.
